Wow it has been a really really long time between blogs. I have been a bit busy and when I have been on the computer i have been on Facebook. I have won another pattern, my husband says i need to start buying tatslotto tickets. i must say i have been really lucky. I won a pattern from Hugs and Kisses. I hace chosen the shower cap and bag set. Cant wait to make the cap and bag for Charlotte. Think i need to head down to candleberry country and purchase some fabric.

You will see in the photographs a picture of my little girl she had just given herself a hair cut, and was very proud of her self. I asked her were all her beautiful curls had gone she replyed on the floor mum you see. Her hair has started to grow back but it will be a long time until i can put it up in a pony tail again . She has never had a fringe she really didn't do a bad job of cutting one.

Grady's first time using textas and last for a while he thought they were rather tasty.

Mrs Perkins, I made for my sister inlaws birthday. I have made another 2 since then Charlotte and Grady needed one each.

My Angel swap finished projects before i popped them into the post. I just hope I addressed the package properly.

Sorry about the photos being on their sides i couldn't work out how to turn them

I have also finished a needle case designed for the stitch in at Glenn harrow but haven't taken any photos of it. I have started work on some Christmas projects now
Bye for now

Bag

I finally finished a bag that I started weeks ago. It didn't really take me long to do at all.
I did purchase some fabric for it weeks ago, but wasn't totally happy with it so I guess that's why I was never inspired to make it.
While I was out shopping the other day we came out of the Toy shop and found a sale table out side the fabric store. I picked up a metre of fabric for only $10. So I was determined to finish the bag with the new fabric this weekend. I love the bag so much that I think i will make it again with the old fabric. Now i just need to take it out shopping!!!

Also I was very lucking again in Melly and Me's recent competition. I won first prize. I'm looking forward to sitting down and doing the stitcherys.

Thanks for dropping by

Happy Birthday little man

I have been rather busy in the last month. I have made two birthday presents. One I can show you, the other I gave to my friend before taking a photo. This one was for my sister its a folder to keep all her things for ballet eisteddfod's in.

Grady turned one yesterday. I spent a lot of last week cooking for his party. I made green and blue buntings (I call them backstroke flags) to hang around the house. Charlotte was very disappointed when I took them down today.

I made special cups for the kids, each cup had a picture of them and their name on it. I also did this for the lollie bags. I then turned this into a treasure hunt. The kids loved looking for their own bags.

I made his cake the night before. If you look close you can see Charlotte little fingers have been into the icing.

Now I might be able to get some more stitching done.

Happy Birthday

Today my dear old friend George is 11 I got her for my 21st Birthday. To celebrate Charlotte sang happy birthday to her and help her blow out the candles.

Yes she did get some cake, and so did Koby.

But she had her own celebration in my bed room, she stole the cardboard packaging foil comes in and ate it. I only no this because i found the metal strip on the floor. Lucky she didn’t eat that, but there were a few bite marks in it.

Lucky Lucky Lucky

I’m a lucky girl. On Thursday night I entered my Angel Story quilt into my local Spotlight store quilting competition. I got a phone call yesterday to say that I had won first prize. I went and collected my prize today. It was a lot bigger than I had imagined. I won a new Sewing bag, 30 fat quarters, cutting matt and cutter, thread, pin cushions, bag to store fat quarters in, teddy bear, quilting book, basting spray, needles and enough batting to make a queens size quilt.

Busy Weekend and lucky again

I spent the weekend making an adult size wonder suit for my sister’s boyfriend. I must admit I did have it on a few times while making the suit and it was lovely and warm. Just what you need on a cold winters day. I had enough material left to make Grady a blanket. Its double sided with his name on one side and a car on the other. It fits really well in his pram for when we go out for walks.

I recently received a email from Amanda Brooke letting me know that i had won, one of her patterns. I’m looking forward to getting it in the post and making a start on it. I have been really lucky with her blog this is the second time i have won a prize. The first time i won a necklace, bracelet, candles and some melts. I wear the jewellery all the time, and the candle and melts smell lovely in my crafty room. She has a store on esty you should pop over and have a look.

Crafty stuff

Here are a few photos of what I have been making lately. The first is a bag that was in last months homespun for charlotte. It’s really soft. It came really handy the other night when we were at a party. Charlotte needed a rest so we put her coat in it and she lay down on her soft bag,
The second is a quilt i bought for myself a few months ago from fairies in my garden. It needs a good iron, but i really like the colours.

News on my little ones. Grady took his first steps the other day; he was only 9 1/2 months old. Today Charlotte learnt to use the computer mouse, she loves playing wiggles games online. George (dog) has been behaving her self and Koby (dog) is happy as long as he gets a walk and the fire is on. But he did singe his hair the other day from getting to close to the fire he loves it!!

Thank you for visiting

Missing pumpkins

The other day I harvested my pumpkins and put the on the patio. Yesterday Charlotte came inside telling me she had been playing with big balls. I went out the back to find that all my pumpkins have big cracks in them.

Then this morning i noticed that two of them were missing. I found one in the back yard and the other, well I only found a little bit of skin. George has eaten my pumpkin. GRRR. Now I have to work out what to do with my other pumpkins. Can you freeze them??

On the crafty side of things, I haven’t had a lot of time to do much but here is a photograph of Charlotte’s room. I’m thinking that the butterfly that is designed by Melly and Me would look great in her room. I made the Doona cover and pillow for her and painted the Alphabet around her walls. My Grandmother did the amazing cross stitch for her.

George

I would like to introduce you to my dog George she is turning 11 this year and is still as naughty as a puppy. On Wednesday my next door neighbour Bob gave me one dozen eggs, while I was hanging out the washing, so I put on our table on the patio. I could here that Grady was awake from his sleep and went it to get him. Forgetting all about the eggs. During the afternoon I went out for a couple of hours. When leaving I put the dogs out side. I got home and was greeted at the gate by two very happy dogs. I looked into the back yard to see a funny mess, it was about quarter of the egg carton with no eggs or egg shells to be seen. I called the vet and they said to keep an eye on them. I went out all day on Thursday and came home to a very sick and sorry George. I’m now guessing she didn’t share any of the eggs or shells or carton. She wasn’t asking for tea and was sitting in a dark room. I called the vet at 5.15 and he said to come straight away. George was given a needle and a check up and sent home. But wasn’t allowed to eat anything. She was feeling much better within an hour and asking for food. Later last night I found she had stolen the paper towel out of the pantry and was half way through it.
Today she is much better and eating small serves of rice.

Here is a list of the number of times I have had to taken her to the vet. (That i can remember)
She ate a rubber glove, Late one Friday night then a sandwich covered in gladwrap the following Friday night. The sandwich came back up fully wrapped. A tea towel (I changed vets) she stayed in for observation. 1 kg bag of Quality Streets, luckily she ate them still wrapped in there foil. These were bought by my sister for me i had not opened the plastic bag and they were in my new bag, which she destroyed getting to the chocolates, number of Easter eggs, Santa bag of freedo frogs (the nurse said she wasn’t going to eat freedos again.) A birthday cake just finished being decorated, numerous rolls of toilet paper. And now 12 eggs and there shells plus 3/4 of the carton.

She is a very cleaver and sneaky dog that will sniff out anything that she shouldn’t have.
When we leave her inside we have to ask have we George proofed the house.

Naughty Barbie

I got out one of my projects today, funky floor quilt from Faeries in My Garden, to find that there was a hole in one of the pieces of fabric. After asking Charlotte what had happened to it, she informed me that her Barbie was cold. So I’m guessing that naughty Barbie some how put her hand through the fabric, while being wrapped up tight. I dont blame her on being cold she is always nude. I will post a photo of the rest of the quilt soon.

I got a surprise email yesterday Grady had won the cutest baby photo competition from one of our local baby stores. This is the photo i entered

He started clapping his hands today and is very impressed with himself. He is sitting with his very best friend Koby. Koby is so good with him he lets Grady crawl all over him.

Happy stitching

Today when i went to the post office to pick up my mail. I got a lovely surprise. My Photo Book had arrived, I had uploaded it last week and wasn’t expecting it until at least the end of this week. It’s a great idea, I uploaded a heap of photos that I took from our recent holiday. Then choose the layout and background for each page. I then typed a few words on some of the pages. It was a little like scrap booking without all the embellishments.

Charlotte Grady and I sat outside the General store and looked at our book. She was very excited to see herself and Grady in a book. In the above photo, you can see how tasty Grady found the sand.

Yummy cakes

I love baking and decorating cakes, but i can’t do it every day. So the other night while watching a movie (I can’t just sit and watch a movie, I’m guaranteed to fall asleep) I made my new wall hanging for the kitchen. I bought the frame from Candleberry Country when i went to the "It's a Tea Party" and used some scraps of fabric and spare buttons.
Sorry about the quality of the photo, I had to use my husband’s phone as i just couldn't wait for my batteries to recharge

First Post

Hello this is my first post and i hope it to be the one of many more. I’m looking forward to sharing photographs of my work to other crafty people all over the world. I live in Victoria, Australia with my husband, two young children and two Golden Retrievers.
When i find the time i love to create all types of projects. There is quite a lot I don’t have time to do but i dream about them. I enjoy designing my own quilts and stitchery and one day hope to sell them.

I got the idea to name my page Ginger and Pickles from a story I was reading to my little girl tonight, from the Beatrix Potter Collection.
